Knights men continues road swing Tell North Platte what you think

The North Platte Community College Knights Men's Basketball team (12-3, 3-1 Region IX) continue a five-game road swing Friday at the Lamar Community College Runnin’ Lopes (11-6, 5-0 Region IX).

The Lopes are in sole possession of first place in the South Subregion while the Knights enter the game in second place.

The Knights and Lopes will play twice in four Knight games during an eight-day period.

The Knights hope to bounce back Friday after five days off following a set back to the Otero Rattlers.

Against Otero, the Knights were led by Ethan Montalvo with 16 points and Reath Jiech with 15 points in the losing effort. The Lopes have a four-game winning streak and are led by Malcolm Brooks’ 17.7 ppg and Trevon Seymore’s 12.9 ppg.

The Knights finish the road swing on Sunday at Hastings against the Hastings Broncos JV. This will be the second match-up of the season for the two teams. The Knights defeated the Broncos JV 68-51 in their opening game of the season. The Knights were led by Tim Simmons 17 points and Ethan Montalvo and Damon Brown’s 11 points. The Broncos JV was led by Matt Nelson’s 15 points.

The Hastings game will be broadcast on Rock 100 radio.

The Knights return home on Wednesday, Jan. 23, to face the Laramie County Golden Eagles at 7 p.m.
