Jason Bielicki was sentenced to seven years in federal prison Monday, after he pled guilty to receipt and distribution of child pornography. U.S. District Judge John M. Gerrard handed down the sentence. Bielicki will spend five years on supervised release after he gets out of prison, United States Attorney Deborah R. Gilg From July-September 2011, an investigator with the North Platte Police used automated software to determine that a computer at a specific IP address was sharing child pornography through the Internet, Gilg said. A search warrant was obtained for Bielicki's home in North Platte. When questioned, Bielicki at first said he was downloading items to report child porn to others, but later admitted he was viewing, possessing, and sharing images and videos of child pornography, Gilg said. Gilg said a forensic examination of computers and related storage media revealed more than 110 giga-bytes of items believed to be child pornography and child erotica. Gilg said there were videos and digital images of graphic, sexually explicit conduct involving prepubescent minors. Investigators sent more than 2,100 items to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for identification. Gilg said NCMEC identified victims in 96 videos and 105 digital images from outside Nebraska. In addition, Bielicki indicated that he was a moderator for at least one "bulletin board" website that allowed individuals to upload images and videos of sexually explicit conduct, including child porn, prosecutors said. Bielicki was initially arrested in October 2011. Police said he lived at 2318 W. First. The investigation was conducted by the North Platte Police Department and the Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations.
