The woman, as well as a witness, told police that Tobey hurt her Thursday morning at their home in the 900 block of West Sixth, Police Information Officer John Deal said.

The woman also said Tobey attacked her on New Year’s Day, grabbing her around the throat until she reportedly blacked out. She said Tobey also pulled a knife and threatened her with it, Brown said.

Brown said Tobey has a prior charge of domestic assault too.

Tobey is charged with three counts of assault, one count of strangulation, making terroristic threats, use of a weapon to commit a felony and child abuse, because a child was present during the alleged ruckus.

His bond is set at $100,000.

Wow, mom10! What an unfair comment. I spent 3 years in the Maxwell school system, went on to college and have 3 degrees. I teach now.. hmmm ...does that mean I teach children how to become abusers???? I DON'T THINK SO! Shame on you. There are many great teachers in our public schools and when parents start looking at the whole picture and not just blaming teachers for society's problems, our country might turn around sooner than later.

I went to Maxwell School and came out with A's and B's. There is NO reason to blame our public schools. We all are taught from right and wrong, it's up to the person who chooses what they do.

I went to Maxwell from 1st - 12th grade and I'm not an abuser. Even knew Jeremy during that time, never seen this coming, then again I don't really know him that well anymore.

Really mom10!!! I myself attended Maxwell School and I turned out just fine!!!! I know many people who went to Maxwell and none of them are abusers. There may of been a few bad apples but not everyone that goes to Maxwell becomes an abuser!

Mom10, don't act dumb. You can't blame a school or a town for producing an abuser. I and many others find it offensive. That is almost like saying North Platte High only produces pot heads just because one kid got arrested. What an ignorant comment!!!!!!!!!!!

Maxwell School has a habit of producing abusers.
