Over both holiday weekends, Nebraska troopers made 101 driving while intoxicated stops and issued 1,555 speeding citations, Nebraska State Patrol spokeswoman Deb Collins said. Collins said troopers cited 98 drivers for driving under suspended licenses and wrote 141 tickets for no proof of insurance. Troopers wrote 320 seatbelt citations as well as 51 child restraint tickets. Troopers responded to 114 calls for assistance from travelers, mostly due to the bad weather and road conditions, Collins said.
