A North Platte man allegedly pulled a knife on a woman Wednesday afternoon in Memorial Park, earning him a trip to jail. The woman told police that she had arranged to meet her domestic partner Burgess V. Running Enemy, 27, at the park. They had an argument that turned physical. The woman said Burgess grabbed her by the hair and they scuffled, and then Running Enemy pulled out a folding knife from his pocket and threatened her with it, according to Police Information Officer Rodney Brown. Running Enemy is in the Lincoln County jail, charged with third-degree domestic assault (2nd offense), terroristic threats and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony. In court Thursday, his bond was set at $100,000.
Mounteer In other court action, Christopher Mounteer, 30, of North Platte, pleaded guilty to amended charges of attempted possession of methamphetamine. Mounteer was sentenced to 90 days in jail. Mounteer was stopped for speeding Dec. 22, and a North Platte Police Officer noticed a pipe lying on the console of Mounteer’s car. This was probable cause to search and in Christopher’s front left pocket the officer found a small plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance that tested positive for meth, according to court testimony. Also, Anna Vanbuskirk, 21, and Brandon Frantz, 24, of Lincoln faced charges of possession of psilocybin, LSD and cocaine. Both defendants told Lincoln County Judge Kent Turnbull they would hire their own attorneys. Deputy County Attorney Austin Leighty asked for $20,000 bond for each defendant. Turnbull asked how much of each drug was in their possession, and Leighty said it was less than a gram each. Turnbull considered that to be only for personal use and because there was no intent to distribute, he set bonds at $10,000 each.
