Alfonso was not missing, police spokesman Rodney Brown said Thursday. He made the announcement after an unauthorized and mistaken "missing person" alert circulated through the North Platte community on facebook and smart phones.

Brown said Melissa Romero called police shortly after midnight Tuesday and said she’d last seen her husband at about 2 a.m. the night before, Dec. 31.

Police responded to the 2800 block of West 20th. As they investigated, they received information that Alfonso was still in North Platte, Brown said.

Police found Alfonso and he “appeared healthy and under no duress,” Brown said Thursday morning, so Alfonso family was notified that he is no longer considered to be missing.

I'm saying there's something more to this story than meets the press. Ms. Romero took down the cr*apper bathroom hook-up duck face pictures. Mr. Romero "disappears" but is, in fact, alive and well (make no mistake, THANK GOD he's okay). What happened here?

So The Post reported a different ending, saying he finally called his sister and then law enforcement saying he was never in danger but would not reveal his where abouts. Come on, how she looked on TV? If you knew you were going on the news and you were worried about your missing spouse, are you saying you wouldn't want to appear decent?? And oh yes, what a horrible mom for trying not to scare her children that she HONESTLY believed something happened to their father. Instead of raking her over the coals, how about blaming the coward that took off from his family in the middle of the night? I swear, you people need to find a life, look in the mirror before making such stupid and hateful comments. Then again, maybe next week you'll be in an article here and can listen to the hate people spoutabout you. Isn't it enough that it was probably very embarrassing and hurtful to Melissa? What a man to disappear on his family with no explanation. You people make me sick

She has issues and I think a false reporting charge is warranted!

Point taken, Mike. I just thought it was odd she was showing boobs (which I'm not against) when her hubby's supposedly missing. The whole package (snicker)--interview + picture--is just weird.

(and horrible duck face pictures, too. LOL) Btw, if your hubby were missing and then found, and you're idea of celebrating is to take a picture of yourself standing next to the toilet with the plunger and scrubber in the background, YOUR MARRIAGE IS IN THE CR*PPER. LOLOL

The interview really bugged me, too--I wouldn't call her dressed *nicely*, I call it dressed for attention. Who the heck tells their kids, "dad's in the garage?" and then NOT expect the kids to go look? THAT'S SICK. THAT'S CHILD CRUELTY. And then, Thursday morning, after he was found, she posts a selfie (a cell phone pic of yourself) on facebook FULL of cleavage and duckface and the toilet in the background. (https://www.facebook.com/melissa.romero.1232). He probably needed a break or was with friends and she reported him missing to get attention and to humiliate him. I don't know if he did anything wrong, but she...she is sending off red flag signals left and right. She needs to be investigated for false-reporting.

I thought it was weird from the newsclip that she had make-up, nicely dressed and VERY calm. If that was my significant other I would be a basket case if they were truly missing,.
