Just thought I’d say thank you to the road crews who worked day and night to make Jeffers and Dewey so nice and smooth. I know lots of folks were unhappy during construction but I think everyone should be happy with those roads free of pot-holes. I’ve seen the displays at Cody Park twice this year already. The city workers should be praised for all the work they have done with the holiday houses and lights they display out there. The volunteers that work there in the evenings need a thank you also. Folks, put Cody Park on your priority list of things to see this December. North Platte is a great place to be and I love living here. I have a tribute to our soldiers in Afghanistan displayed in my yard at 1003 E. D. I welcome you to drive by and have a look. Let’s bring those men and women home soon. If the United States needs anything from Afghanistan, let us bargain for goods at a table. We trade commodities, which they need, for their minerals, which the US needs. Stop this war sponsored by our politicians. The winning of this war is futile and only serves to get America’s men and women killed or wounded. We hear no bombs exploding in our city, but we need to care about our soldiers.
