The Irish (5-0) have been known to score a good number of their points off layups that came from turnovers.

But in the win over the Swedes, St. Pat's shot it well from the outside by making six three-pointers.

"We did a really good shooting the ball," said Lady Irish coach Nathan Stienike. "Gothenburg came in with a gameplan to limit our post play and our guards stepped up and made some shots."

The Irish got off to their usual fast start. They went up 9-0 with 4:25 left in the first quarter after Samantha Byrn scored five straight points on a pair of free throws and a three.

St. Pat's never really looked back after that. Shelby Allberry drained a three in the opening minute of the second quarter for an 18-7 lead. At halftime, the Lady Irish had a commanding lead of 31-14.

The margin stayed around the 20-point mark for most of the second half.

"I thought we had another good start," Stienike said. "The girls did a good job on defense. We got in foul trouble and that limited our pressing opportunities."
