Oscar Armando Amaya, 20, of El Salvador, was sentenced in Omaha Monday by U. S. District Judge John M. Gerrard to four and a half months in prison for social security fraud. Amaya violated federal law, United States Attorney Deborah R. Gilg said. In addition to his prison term, he will serve three years of supervised release when he gets out of prison. On Aug. 3, Homeland Security Investigators encountered Oscar Amaya, whom they believed to be an MS 13 gang member, working at the Asian Market, 321 N. 76th St. in Omaha, Gilg said. Investigators determined Amaya was illegally present in the U.S. and was working under someone else’s permanent resident alien number and an unassigned social security number, Gilg said.
