Retailer offers discount to help abuse victimsTell North Platte what you think

maurices, a women's clothing and apparel store, is collecting toys for disadvantaged children at its Platte River Mall location.

All new, unwrapped toys collected until Dec. 20 at maurices will be distributed to local families by the Rape and Domestic Abuse Center. Everyone who makes a donation will receive a coupon for 20 percent off a regular-priced item at maurices.

The Platte River Mall is at 1000 S. Dewey St.

"We're encouraging donations for children of all ages," Store Manager Wendy Engleman said. "Sometimes tweens and teens are overlooked. Things like board games, books, fragrances, jewelry and accessories make great gifts for older children."
