Dreaming of Spring by Savannah Cudzilo

A pencil drawing by Savannah Cudzilo of Brady, entitled “Dreaming of Spring,” was named the best of the Winter Holiday Show at the downtown Art and Gift Gallery. Cudzilo is a senior at Brady High School. Mary Tanner of Hershey won first place for an untitled oil painting of a snowy landscape. Second place went to Sue Condon for a watercolor, “Grandpa’s Barn.” Third place winner was “Winter Juncos”, a colored pencil by Nora Wood. Honorable mentions were given to Joyce McNeil for a photo of her sled dogs, “Nokia, Mushnok, Born to Pull;” Sue Condon, for a watercolor named “Mountain Trees," Ron Boerner for his photo, “Red Barn and Hoarfrost;” Sharon Skinner for an acrylic painting “Trapper’s Cabin,” and Tracy Meyer for an acrylic collage “Snowflake.” The show will be on display at the gallery through December.
Next show The January show, open to the public, will be “Miniatures.” Call the gallery during open hours, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, for size limitations. The number is 308-534-1946.
Farewell sale for Dodson Also, from Jan. 2-20 there will be a final art showing by artist Mary Beth Dodson, who will move to Coronado, Calif. Dodson will have all her available work in oil, pastels, watercolor and acrylic, as well at Altered Books and art miscellany for sale. The Art and Gift Gallery is at 516 N. Dewey in North Platte.
