A large building blocked some traffic on North Platte streets Thursday morning, as the former Modern Muffler building from 1402 S. Jeffers was removed. The building is now the property of NebraskaLand National Bank and was moved off the construction site of their new bank. It will be set in the industrial park off East Philip, where the bank will use it for storage during the construction of the new bank, officials said.

yes, missed charlies plumbing. not much there. a company in bankruptcy that ripped off its former owner. as for testing, yes, they were there, so were 2 other out of town testing companies. anyway, we're glad that that group who owns that bank is doing so in your town. we dont want them in our town. a group of people who have made there money at the residents of north plattes expense on many shady real estate deal. go ahead and keep them. |

Perhaps you missed seeing Steele Construction, Charlie's plumbing, Beverage Well Services (dewatering), Hansen Construction, Kirk Nichols Consulting, Cement Products, Platte Valley Electric, Snell Services, AJ Sheet Metal, Twin Rivers Testing, and Western Engineering. I probably missed several others. Again I ask, what is your problem Truth? If this project is going to bring $15 million in new tax base, isn't that a good thing? Isn't that what you and the WNTA want to see? How does that "not" help the local economy? Maybe you should wait until the project is completed before you complain about the local economic impact. The project is just getting started! |

demolition of old buildings, foundation, steele, steele erection, concrete work, piers/foundation prep, elevator shafts, and ground source well drilling all out of town constructors. The only in-town construction I have seen: cement material, cement pumper service, one or two subcontracted demolition folks (subcontracted by company ount of kearney). Correct me if I am wrong. I remember the big write-up of what a boom to the local economy this wuld be. Also, if this building is only a 2-3 million dollar bulding (per the Bulletin/per the building permit), nlnb is trying to pull a fast one at the assessors office. the centris bank across the street is over 2 million dollars. nlnb plus land is at least 13-15 million dollars. you people dont see it yet, but the owner of nlnb and his coherts have got north platte landlocked. you will either pay the rediculous prices they are asking for land, or north platte is dead in the water. could care less either way. |

It is always good to be reminded how "the truth" also known as "pure fiction" constantly takes shots at this bank. Makes you wonder what his real agenda is? Anyone who understands construction knows that many parts of this type of construction cannot be performed locally. Yet at the same time, he has no issues with the Hospital using a Lincoln general contractor and several non-local subs on that project. |

It is great to see a business reuse something like this, instead of just tear it down and throw it away. |

Just how many local contractors are you all seeing on that big new project of theirs? Looks like not very many to me. |
