City Bones, the newly released book about North Platte's historic downtown, will be the topic of the Friends of the Library's Brown Bag Luncheon at noon on Thursday. Based on the book, City Bones author Kaycee Anderson and Bulletin Editor George Lauby will present historic information and photography of North Platte’s downtown buildings. Some of the buildings that will be discussed tell the story of “Little Chicago,” when gambling and prostitution were common. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and autographs. "Don’t miss this exciting local history program, which is free to attend," Library spokewoman Terri Johnson said. Seating is limited to 70 people, so please call the library at 535-8036 for seating reservations. Attendees may bring their own lunch. Coffee, tea and water will be provided. The book is also for sale around town at A to Z Books, the Lincoln County Museum and the Ft. Cody Trading Post.
