At North Platte Community College, the local Sigma Omega chapter of Phi Beta Lambda is giving residents of Liberty House a Christmas party. Phi Beta Lambda is the collegiate level of the Future Business Leaders of American, and members are committed to education, leadership, and community. Liberty House is an assistd living home for mentally ill residents. Phi Beta Lambda has set up a few Christmas trees around North Platte to help acquire gifts for the Christmas party at Liberty House on Fourth St. The trees are located at Gary Super Foods, the south campus of MPCC and Centris Federal Credit Union. Trees are decorated with special ornaments, and on the back of each ornament, Liberty House residents have listed gifts they would like for Christmas, such as razors and clothing. Below the tree is a drop-off box for donations. Any type of hygiene products, gift cards and monetary donations would be greatly appreciated and can also be put in the drop-off boxes, organizer Farra Morgan said. To give gift to Phi Beta Lambda directly, contact Morgan at (308) 289-6322. Donations for the Liberty House Christmas on Fourth Street party must be received by Wednesday. Dec. 12. "Please give what you can this holiday season and help out the Liberty House," Morgan said.
