ALBION – Cheers and boos resounded loudly though a huge metal building Tuesday, as an estimated 800 people came to the fairgrounds to talk about a proposed $7 billion oil pipeline that would be built through Nebraska en route from Canada to Texas. A whopping 163 people signed up to testify at the hearing, which was attended by two representatives of the U.S. State Department, Deena Winter of the Nebraska Watchdog news service reported. Winter said many people wearing boots, caps and jeans – farmers, ranchers and other landowners – testified against the pipeline while many pro-business and free market advocates and people who would help build the pipeline testified in favor of it. The crowd was noisy. For the full report, click HERE.
