Werkmeister was originally charged with possession but he agreed to a plea deal.

Prosecutor Tanya Roberts-Connick asked for probation in exchange for Werkmeister’s guilty plea, with the stipulation that Bryan attend drug rehab and be required to submit to random tests and searches.

Judge Richard Birch agreed, sentencing Werkmeister to one year probation with those requirements.

Harlow

Alexis Harlow, 18, of North Platte was sentenced to one year of probation and 27 days jail time for second-degree assault.

Lincoln County District Judge Donald Rowlands gave her credit for 27 days already served.

Deputy County Attorney Jennifer Wellan asked that mental health counseling be part of her probation, noting that Harlow’s record includes juvenile offenses.

Rowlands agreed to add that requirement to the probation terms.

Harlow’s troubles stemmed from a family fight in July when she conked her dad with a glass ashtray.

Harlow’s dad has told the County Attorney’s Office he doesn’t want more trouble for Alexis. He said she has made good changes in her attitude and he felt probation would be good for her, Wellan said.

Rodriguez

Johnny Rodriguez, 26, of North Platte, pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault of a peace officer and disturbing the peace.

Rodriguez is accused of punching a cop outside of Kelsey’s Bar at about 12:45 a.m. on Nov. 8.

Defense attorney Martin Troshynski asked for time to talk to the officer involved and get more information.

Rodriguez is in the jail on a $5,000 bond.

After the arrest, officers said they saw Rodriguez standing outside the front door of the bar yelling at a woman in a car. Johnny refused to do what the officers told him and became aggressive. According to jail records, Rodriguez has been jailed in the past for disturbing the peace, resisting arrest and obstructing a police officer.
