Johnson, 31, was charged on Nov. 13 for alleged sexual assault of a former female student in a suburban school south of Denver. Detectives suggest there are 30 charges against Johnson, including multiple counts of sexual assault on a child, sexual exploitation of a child and enticement of a child.

Johnson turned himself in the same day as an arrest warrant was issued. He posted a $50,000 bond, according to Colorado news reports.

Johnson was a basketball coach at Rock Canyon High School and an eighth grade teacher at Rocky Heights Middle School in Douglas County, south of Denver. He lived in Englewood.

He resigned his teaching and coaching positions in March for unrelated reasons, according to a statement from the Douglas County school district.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office began investigating Johnson in June, the Highlands Ranch News reported.

After Johnson resigned his teaching job, he became a staff recruiter with AJS Partners, focusing on corporate accounting and finance professionals looking to advance their careers, the Highland News said.

Johnson was a student manager for football and basketball teams when he was at North Platte High. He earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Nebraska.

Anyone with information about the Colorado charges is asked to call the Douglas County Sheriff’s office at 303-814-7131.
