Sheriff's deputies responded Wednesday morning to a report of an injury accident on Front St. near Homestead Road. An eastbound Schaben Sanitation truck lost a rolled up tarp and pole off the top of the truck, which struck 42-year-old Anthony Vigil’s westbound pickup, hitting the driver’s windshield and passing through the cab, striking Vigil. Vigil's injuries were not life threatening, according to a sheriff's statement. He was taken to Great Plains Regional Medical Center. The truck was driven by Laurence R. Naranjo, 56, who was not injured, the sheriff's statement said.
