The North Platte Jaycees will offer a community-wide holiday blood drive from noon-6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 28 in downtown North Platte. The “Mistletoe Magic” blood drive is a way to help others this holiday season, when blood supply is in high demand, organizer Kirsten Parker said. Give blood and you could help save three lives. "Our hope is to turn this much needed event into an annual holiday blood drive, similar to North Platte Rotary Bloodhounds and KX-104’s Battle of the Badges," Parker said. "Donors are allowed to give blood every 56 days, allowing donors to participate in all three annual drives. This year’s drive will be held at 306 E. Fifth St., south of the Neville Center and next to Sears. Special holiday gifts will be given to all donors courtesy of the American Red Cross and the North Platte Jaycees. Appointments may be made by calling Parker at (308) 539-3546 or online at www.redcrossblood.com, using sponsor code 91972.
