Members of North Platte High School’s senior class are asking that canned and boxed food items be dropped off at Swan's Furniture in downtown North Platte. The annual food drive at the high school benefits food pantries in North Platte. Classes compete to see who can obtain the most donations. Seniors Luke Volz and Bryar Anthony also help make deliveries for Swan’s. "We are making it a goal to help the senior class collect the most canned food for Drive taking place at the High School on Dec. 14," Volz said Monday in a press announcement. Swan’s Furniture has agreed to be a drop-off point for food, Volz said. The goal is to fill a Swan's truck with donations. Canned/boxed food can be dropped off at 420 W. Fourth during store hours until Dec. 13. Swan's store is open six days a week. The hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.–5 p.m. on Saturdays.
