Two people died on Nebraska roads during the Thanksgiving holiday from Nov. 21-26, the Nebraska State Patrol said Monday. The two deaths were in Howard and Thayer Counties. The same number of people died in traffic accidents during the same time a year ago, State Patrol Spokeswoman Deb Collins said. The NSP also handed out: • 213 seat belt citations and warnings • 1,340 speeding citations • 286 motorist assists • 68 no proof of insurance • 42 child restraint citations and warnings • 39 citations for driving under the influence, 21 for open alcohol containers and 12 for minor in possession.
