Investigation of a ruckus Monday led to felony drug charges against a North Platte man, Felipe Carland.

Police responded to a report of a man trying to break into a home on the 600 block of Rodeo Road. The callers said the intoxicated suspect, Felipe Carland, was banging on the door and trying to enter.

When police arrived, they found a broken a window too. Carland, who had fresh cuts to his hand, denied breaking the window.

Carland was first cited for disturbing the peace, and criminal mischief, both misdeamors. However, he was later found to have Clonazepam, a controlled substance, and Preomethazine Hydrochloride, a legend drug. Legend drugs require a prescription but are not controlled otherwise.

Carland was subsequently cited for felony ossession of a controlled substance and possession of a legend drug, which is a misdemeanor.

Carland spent Thanksgiving week in the Lincoln County Jail, held on a $50,000 bond.
