• American Legion Hall (2020 E. Fourth) – Soldier’s Holiday craft fair, silent auction, concessions. Help send care packages to area soldiers overseas. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Bring a care package donation for entry into events.

• Quality Inn & Suites (2102 S. Jeffers) – 2012 Festival of Trees with decorations by local business on display. 6-8 p.m.

• Cedar Bowl (1100 S. Jeffers) – Cosmic bowling under black lights. 8-11 p.m. $4 per game.

• Neville Center (301 E. Fifth) – A Tuna Christmas performance, a comedy about a small Texas town during the holiday season. 8 p.m. Adults $15; Children and students $8.


Saturday, Nov. 24

• Touchdown Club (1100 S. Jeffers) – Soldier’s Holiday tournaments. Poker for $20 and pool for $10. Entry fee sends care packages to soldiers overseas for the holidays. Noon. Bring a care package donation to access events.

• Neville Center (301 E. Fifth) – A Tuna Christmas. Live theater comedy about a small Texas town during the holiday season. 8 p.m. Adults $15; Children and students $8.

• Kelsey’s Place (219 Rodeo Rd.) – Live music by Crazy Horse Band. 9 p.m. Cover charge $3.

• Sculley’s Shooters (2221 E. Fourth) – Tom Janes benefit with live music by Dirty Finger and Big Dan & the Jellystingers. 9 p.m. Cover charge.

• A to Z Books (507 N. Jeffers) – Open Mic Nite. Established performers and newcomers. 7-10:30 p.m. Free-will donation. Refreshments provided or bring your own.

• VFW Post 1504 (2100 E. Fourth) – bingo, total of 24 games, starts at 6:45 p.m.

• Sculley’s Shooters (2221 E. Fourth) – adult dance lessons -- Country, Latin, Ballroom, and Swing. 7-9 p.m. $3 per person.

• North Platte Senior Center (900 E. Tenth) – the Golden Classics, a four-piece combo, plays a dance. 7-10 p.m. $3.


Thursday, Nov. 29

• North Platte Public Library - The Life & Times of Charles Dickens. Noon. Brown Bag presentation by Vicky McCarty. No charge. Attendees may bring lunch. Coffee, tea and water provided. Call 535-8036 by Nov. 28 to reserve a seat.

• Sculley's Shooters (2221 E. Fourth) - Live music by Another Lost Year. Alternative Metal/Hard Rock. An acclaimed live rock show. Paisty Jenny and Screaming For Silence open. Starts at 8 p.m. $10 admission. 18 or older only. Also, fundraiser for Salvation Army. Bring a new children's toy (minimum $5 value) or $5 worth of canned goods to enter drawing to win autographed merchandise and other prizes. More donations, more chances to win.

• Garden Glove Center (1800 E. Twelfth) – Christmas Boutique with live music, fresh trees and wreaths, over 30 vendors. Santa and Mrs. Clause 2-4 p.m. 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Bring canned food item to support local food pantries.

• Wallace Community Hall (105 E. Alice St., Wallace) – Wallace Volunteer Fire & Rescue Auxiliary’s Christmas Bazaar, home based goods for sale. Soup luncheon with homemade pie. 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Free will donation.

• United Methodist Church (1600 W. E) – 25th annual Craft Fair. Lunch 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Craft show 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

• Children’s Museum (314 N. Jeffers) – Illusionists, stilt walkers, juggline performances by Bacchanal Promotions. 10 a.m.-noon. Members free, non-members $4.

• A-Z Books (507 N. Jeffers) – Barbra Mohrman book signing of Four Blue Stars in the Window, a family’s story of the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, and the duty of a generation. 1-3 p.m.

• Cody Park – Santa’s Workshop with hay rides, caroling and entertainment. Begins at 5 p.m. with mayor’s lighting of the North Pole. Lasts until 9 p.m.

• Harvest Christian Fellowship (2607 US-30 W.) – Donna’s Community Christmas Dinner. 2-6 p.m. Free holiday meal. Live music all day. Santa at 5 p.m. Everyone invited.
