On Nov. 29, Vicky McCarty will present “The Life & Times of Charles Dickens” at noon at the library. McCarty will perform a living history presentation of Charles Dickens. The majority of Dickens literary works drew heavily from his childhood times, and McCarty will talk about his upbringing, literary works, and explore everyday life in the 1800s. This year is the celebration of Dickens' 200th birthday. The free program is open to the public. Attendees may bring lunch. Coffee, tea and water will be provided. Please call the library at 535-8036 to reserve a seat by Wednesday, Nov. 28. This is a prelude to the library's Dickens Tea that will be held Dec. 6-8. Call for the library for more details about that event. "Come enjoy this wonderful writer brought to life," Library spokeswoman Terri Johnson said.
