Nearly 300 people turned out Tuesday night for an early Thanksgiving dinner at the Berean Church on W. Eighth as well as a winter coat exchange. Men did the cooking and women organized the coats. Men prepared 13 turkeys, 50 pies, lots of corn, potatoes, vegetables and rolls, organizer Lloyd Entz said. There was no charge. The dinner is an annual event at the church, and this year organizers added the coat exchange. One hundred and eighty-five winter coats were donated, and those who came could take what they wanted.
