Michael Duffy, 49, of North Platte has been arrested twice for a disturbance at Wal-Mart. Duff was charged with criminal mischief Nov. 5 after the police were called to Wal-Mart. He was cited for disturbing the peace. The next day, Wal-Mart told police they found evidence that Duffy took alcohol off the shelf and drank it inside the store, without paying for it. By that time, Duffy was out of jail. He remained on the loose until Monday, when an officer found him at a house in the 2300 block of W. 15th and arrested him for theft by shoplifting. It is Duffy’s third arrest for shoplifting, which makes it a felony. Duffy was taken to the county jail, where the new charge was added to his record, and he was processed and released. Duffy has prior arrests for disturbing the peace, driving under the influence and contempt of court.
