The Lincoln County Commissioners will hold a public hearing Dec. 17 to consider revisions to county zoning ordinances, as well as a new long-range comprehensive plan for development and revised subdivision regulations. The hearings will begin at 9:30 a.m. and continue until 11 a.m., the commissioners said.
The county planning commission has revamped zoning classifications that are nearly 30 years old, as well as drafted a new comprehensive plan and subdivision regulations.
North Platte resident Bernice Ziegler, 85, has concerns about an isolated industrial zone near her residential neighborhood in the hills north of the city. She is expected to attend.
Ziegler also recommends that a limited number of horses, cattle and hogs be permitted on a 10-acre tract of land. Those animals are prohibited under the new zoning regulations.
In other action Monday, the commissioners:
Approved the McPheeters Administrative Subdivision, creating a 1.04 acre building site from an existing 40-acre parcel of land in an agricultural district south and east of Brady at 23998 So. McPheeters Rd.
Approved a special designated liquor permit submitted by Sculley, LLC for a wedding reception on Dec. 22 at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds.
Authorized the Sutherland Cemetery to allow another county-paid burial on one plot, at the request of family members who wanted the ashes of family members buried together.
