Rental truck with big haul

An Arizona man is jailed after a Nebraska State Patrol trooper found more than 2,300 pounds of marijuana in the back of his rental truck in eastern Nebraska.

Just before 10 a.m. Sunday, a trooper stopped the eastbound 2012 rental truck for failure to signal near the Bradshaw I-80 Interchange. The trooper was given consent to search the vehicle, leading to the seizure of 101 bundles of marijuana weighing a total of 2,395.5 pounds, Nebraska State Patrol Spokeswoman Deb Collins said.

The driver, James C. Valimont, 56, of Glendale, Ariz., was lodged in the York County Jail on a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, Collins said.
