Frank Bryant got some bad news as he was celebrating his wedding anniversary. As Bryant and his wife Kim were having their anniversary on July 11, he was diagnosed with a bleeding brain tumor and life-flighted to Kearney for surgery. Bryant, 54, a long-time auto salesman at Bill Summers, was told the next day that he has glioblastoma -- a terminal brain tumor. On Friday, the North Platte Jaycees will host a breakfast burrito sale for shoppers at the Platte River Mall to benefit his family. Bryant and his wife Kim have thee children -- an adult son who lives in Florida and two daughters, Kylee, 16 and Kortney, 11, in North Platte, organizer Kristen Parker said. The Jaycees offered to help with fundraising since Frank and Kim do not have health insurance. Given the prognosis, the costs of monthly medical bills, prescriptions and doctors' visits weigh heavily on the family’s mind, Parker said. “Our goal is to help them out at this holiday season and relieve a little stress and strain so they may enjoy their holidays together this year,” Parker said. At the "Black Friday Breakfast Burrito Sale" burritos will be available from 5-8 a.m. in the lobby of the Platte River Mall, outside of JC Penney’s, for a suggested donation of $2. Additional donations will be accepted and go to the family, Parker said. Pre-orders are available by email to northplattejaycees@yahoo.com.
