Jeremy Kreiling, 25, of Hershey asked for a lower bond Thursday in court so he could go back to work on a ranch north of Hershey. Kreiling was jailed a week earlier for an alleged sexual assault that happened 2-3 years ago. A teenage girl, now 15, told investigators that Kreiling assaulted her while she was babysitting, according to a sheriff's statement. The girl leveled the charge Nov. 8. Deputies arrested Kreiling later the same day. Deputy Lincoln County Attorney Austin Leighty initially asked for a $500,000 bond, citing the young age of the alleged victim. Lincoln County Judge Michael Piccolo agreed, but told Kreiling it was a high amount that could be lowered at a later hearing after a defense attorney was appointed. On Thursday, defense attorney Patrick Heng asked for a bond reduction from $500,000 to $100,000. Deputy Lincoln County Attorney Jennifer Wellan had no objection and Piccolo agreed, then delayed his decision. One of the bond requirements would be that Kreiling have no contact with anyone under age 18. Heng asked Piccolo if Kreiling’s workplace could be excepted from the requirement, because the owner of the ranch where Kreiling works has two children under 18. Kreiling told Piccolo that his boss would be the one bailing him out so he could go to work. Wellan objected to the exception, again noting that the charge against Kreiling is sexual assault of a child. She said she would have to see something from the parents, saying they have no problems with Kreiling being around the children. Piccolo delayed a final decision until the county attorney’s office hears from the parents.
Wife: nothing happened Kreiling’s wife Lora told the Bulletin that nothing must have happened that night, which she said was two years ago on New Year’s Eve. According to Lora Kreiling, the couple hired a babysitter and went with Lora’s grandparents to a bar in Hershey to celebrate the holiday. The babysitter, who was 16, brought a younger girl – the alleged victim – and a boyfriend with her. When Lora returned home she said she found the teens had been drinking and at least one of them had taken a drug -- adderall. She said it took awhile to get them sobered up, so they stayed the night. Lora said everyone got to bed around 4 a.m. and the house was crowded all night. She doubts the assault could have occurred.
