Chase Miller, MPCCís new Rodeo Coach, and Rodeo Club Advisor Mike Janecek are spearheading the event.

The items were made by Jessica Raymond, owner of Striped J Leather in Ontario, Canada. They include a matching headstall and breast collar combination valued at $350, a make-up/shaving kit valued at $150, a headstall valued at $130, and spur straps valued at $90.

Miller began his coaching position earlier this fall and has been going full steam ever since. Originally from Ogallala, he began participating in rodeo around the age of 10. He later went to college in Ranger, Texas, where he was coached by Hall of Fame bronc rider Tom Reeves, and then went to school in Martin, Tenn., for a year.

Miller has an impressive record of acheivements. He has been to the College National Finals Rodeo three times and was a member of the Menís Championship Team in the college finals in 2007. He won both the Nebraska State Rodeo Association (NSRA) and the Mid-States Rodeo Association (MSRA) in 2009 and was the Kansas Professional Rodeo Association (KPRA) champion in 2010. He was also a runner-up for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Associationís Rookie of the Year in 2008.

The raffle will take place during the MPCC Rodeo Clubís Cowboy Scramble in March. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased from MPCC Rodeo Club members or by emailing millerc@mpcc.edu or janecekm@mpcc.edu.
