Many cattlemen from across the state will join together Dec. 5-7 for the Nebraska Cattlemen 2012 Annual Convention in Kearney. The convention will feature Wyatt DeJong, 2010-2011 National FFA Central Region Vice President, cowboy poet Baxter Black and National Cattlemen's Beef Association President J.D. Alexander, among others. A "Cattlemen’s College" will be held Wednesday afternoon and the welcome reception during the trade show on Wednesday evening will officially kick-off this year’s convention. On Thursday, the Nebraska Cattlemen Council meetings will be held in the morning, the foundation luncheon will be at noon and the Nebraska Cattlemen committee meetings in the afternoon. Members of Nebraska Cattlemen have the opportunity to participate in discussions in council and committee meetings. These meetings determine the direction and policy of Nebraska Cattlemen for the upcoming year. The convention will be at the Holiday Inn.
