State volleyball: Exeter-Milligan tops SutherlandTell North Platte what you think

GRAND ISLAND-Exeter-Milligan defeated Sutherland in four sets on Friday night in the Class D1 semifinals of the state volleyball tournament.

With the 25-23, 20-25, 25-21, 25-13 victory, the Timberwolves will play Guardian Angels Central Catholic of West Point for the D1 championship on Saturday.

After the defeat to Exeter-Milligan (29-4), Sutherland (25-7) will play O'Neill St. Mary's (31-3) in the third place match at 10 am, Saturday morning at Grand Island Senior High.

Senior Sam Kennedy had 25 kills to lead the Lady Sailors in the losing effort. Fellow senior Joli Hopping had 32 set assists.

Hopping also had a team-high 16 digs along with Kelsey Dillenburg. Jalyne Schuster and Kristen Nelson had 15 digs. Kennedy and Kaley Stokey had 14 digs.
