A Tuna Christmas, a comedy about a small Texas town during the Christmas season, opens at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17.

The show continues for four more performances.

In a sequel to Greater Tuna, third smallest town in Texas celebrates Christmas. Radio station OKKK news commentators Thurston Wheelis and Arles Struvie report on Yuletide activities, including a hot competition for the annual lawn display championship.

In other news, Joe Bob Lipsey's production of "A Christmas Carol" is jeopardized by unpaid electric bills. Many colorful Tuna denizens, some from Greater Tuna and some appearing for the first time, join the holiday fun.

"A Tuna Christmas is a total delight for all seasons!" playhouse manager Scott Carlson said.

Performances are set Sundday, Nov. 18 and Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 23-25. The curtain goes up at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturdays and the Sunday shows are 2 p.m. matinees.

Tickets go on sale Monday -- $15 for adults and $8 for children and students. They can be purchased Monday-Friday from noon-5 p.m. at the playhouse or before any performances at the door, unless there is a sellout, or online at www.northplattecommunityplayhouse.com.
