A teenage girl told investigators that Kreiling assaulted her nearly three years ago while she was babysitting at Kreiling's home, according to a sheriff's statement.

The girl told investigators she was allowed to drink alcohol while she was at the house, and Kreiling, 23-years-old at the time, waited until his wife and children were asleep. She said Kreiling eventually stopped when he heard noises in the house.

She was 13-years-old then and is now 15, the sheriff's statement said.

Investigators questioned Kreiling Thursday evening at the Sheriff's office, but he refused to answer questions. He was charged and booked into jail.

In court Friday, Kreiling appeared humble and expressed remorse for the trouble. He said he is a ranch hand and he asked for a court-appointed attorney, but said it might be difficult to find one locally because of conflicts of interest from a similar case involving a friend of the girl.

Deputy Lincoln County Attorney Austin Leighty asked for a $500,000 bond, citing the age of the alleged victim. Lincoln County Judge Michael Piccolo agreed. Piccolo told Kreiling it was a high bond, but he could discuss bond at a later hearing after his defense attorney is appointed.

The investigation is ongoing, the sheriff said.

Whether or not the sex was consensual, he should have known better. He's suppose to be a responsible adult who knows that having sex with a 13 year old is illegal, unethical, and immoral.

chasman32 - It would not EVER be MY daughter, because she is monitored by her father and I! She isn't nor will she EVER be allowed in a situation that she is with older men! that's where the parenting comes in!!

just because someone isn't nice looking or well put together doesn't make them a criminal. I Don't know this young woman, but have heard she is good friends with another young girl who recently filed rape charges. From the sounds of it the investigation is starting to show she lied on multiple accounts of it.

i have met so many tramatized girls in my time and know this crap happens 10 times more than reported. Sure he is is innocent at this point, but if he did this.....she is mentally scarred for life and intimacy will never be what it should be. I am sure his cellmates will give him lots of attention.I also find it interesting that he remained mute. I have no more to say until after the trial.

Too bad this could only be printed if there was a conviction. Right now it's only her word that this happened. Unfortunately teenage girls can be ruthless. I knew a girl a few years ago that was saying a guy raped her and her uncle as well, she later said it never happened. A little too late to recant after it's in the paper. And why would someone criticize this guys appearance it says he is a ranch hand.

Attention at home....what?????? Can you say rape..... 13 years old.... what if it was your daughter upandgone? I am angry that people would look at this as a situation where a guy gets frisky and thinks it is ok to do this to barely a teen. I swear this world is going the wrong direction on sex and drugs. Our town has quite a reputation at Techumseh state prison. A regular stream of junkies and pedaphiles and other low lifes that we never seem to run out of.

I don't understand how this happens to the SAME girl time after time? Where the heck were the parents in all of this? Was she just allowed to go anywhere with anyone??? I mean what kind of parent lets their teen girl work at a ranch full of males with no supervision or stay all night at a young mans house even if babysitting?
