Two men were arrested and 40 pounds of marijuana was seized Saturday morning after a traffic stop at the Giltner Exit on Interstate 80. Around 11:18 a.m., Saturday, a trooper stopped an eastbound 2004 GMC Envoy for failure to signal at the Giltner I-80 Interchange. Giltner is between Grand Island and Aurora. The trooper was given consent to search the vehicle, leading to the seizure of 40 pounds of marijuana. The marijuana was contained in 10 pounds packages in four duffle bags in the cargo area. The driver, Jose Manuel Figueroa, 24, of Selma, Calif., and a passenger in the vehicle, Martinez Cruz Garcia, 20, a Mexican national, were both lodged in the Hamilton County Jail. Figueroa and Garcia each face a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
