Sutherland sweeps Potter-Dix in district finalsTell North Platte what you think

CHAPPELL-Sutherland blasted Potter-Dix in three straight sets on Thursday to clinch its third straight trip to the Nebraska State Volleyball tournament.

The Sailors dominated the Coyotes 25-11, 25-11, 25-10 in the D1-6 finals at Creek Valley High School.

Sutherland was led by Sam Kennedy and Jalyne Schuster. Kennedy had 17 kills and nine digs and Schuster had 12 kills and 15 digs. Setter Joli Hopping had 25 assists and nine digs.

With a record of 24-6, the Lady Sailors should be the No. 2 seed in the Class D1 state tournament starting on Thursday in Grand Island. Sutherland is ranked behind Guardian Angels Central Catholic (28-4) of West Point in the NSAA power point standings.
