A cut-a-thon will be held from 5 p.m. to closing time on Wednesday, Nov. 7 in hair salons in North Platte and Gothenburg for the benefit of Conner and Colten Gentry and Terry and Elaine Grasz. A dozen hair salons are participating in the fundraising effort to help the families of the four victims of a fatal crash Oct. 15 on an icy overpass west of Maxwell. Items are also being donated for a silent auction, including gift items, Husker items, oil changes and a watch, organizer Michelle Bellew said. At each salon, customers will make a minimum donation of $5 and receive a haircut. All participating salons are donating their time and effort, and all proceeds during those hours will go to the victims' families. Eight of the hair salons are in North Platte and four are in Gothenburg. They are:
North Platte The Hairloft, Total Attractions, Looks Unlimited, The Man Cave, Bold N Beautiful, Trends, A Cut Above and Studio 54.
Gothenburg His and Hers, Main Street, Perfect Spot and Razor Kreationz.
