Browsing the books Thursday
|
The library’s meeting room is full of books and other items for sale during the Fall Friends of the Library Book Sale, Nov. 1-3. There are a huge number of books, many in near-new condition. Items come from an estate donation to the Friends group, the public and the library’s collections. Many collectible books as well as special art and history books are available, library spokeswoman Terry Johnson said. The first day of the sale Thursday was set aside for members of the “Friends of the Library” from noon-8 p.m. On Friday, the sale is open to everyone from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. On Saturday morning, the public sale continues until noon, then closes for an hour. From 1-5 p.m., the bag sale starts. Those attending will be given grocery-sized bags and can fill them for $2 each. Proceeds from the book sale go to the Friends of the Library organization, which assists the library with improvement projects such as windows and exterior remodeling.
