Hershey, who was the No. 2 seed in the subdistrict, swept Dundy County-Stratton 25-18, 25-11, 25-13 in the semifinals. Lady Panther coach Amy Beyer said that her team played a strong overall match against Dundy County-Stratton (18-11). “The kids did just what we needed them to do,” said Beyer. “We served effectively and hit the ball to the holes on the defense. It was a good, focused effort for us.” Hershey’s season came to an end later that night with its third loss of the season to St. Pat’s. The Panthers end their season with a 17-10 record. “We did some nice things and hit the ball well and hard at times,” Beyer said. “We just did not pass consistently enough to stay in system. I am very proud of the kids, they battled.” Daynlee Miller had 12 kills in each of the two subdistrict matches to lead Hershey. Brooke Munsen had a combined 15 kills to follow.
