Burkholder, who teaches second grade at Hall School, has undergone several skin grafts and other procedures since the accident. After recovering at Madonna Rehab Hospital in Lincoln, she is now home and is expected to be at the fundraiser.

"She’s doing really well, but she has a long road ahead to recover," organizer Shelley Shore of the North Platte Jaycees said. "She will have to go through months of therapy to regain her mobility and strength."

The Eagles Club is at 620 N. Chestnut St.

Teams are welcome to enter the soup cook-off for a $25 fee. All soups are welcome. Admission on Sunday is $6 per adult, $4 per child 12 years old and younger, with toddlers 3 and younger admitted free.

To pitch in with a team or donate, contact Shore at 535-6740, ext 3138 or at 534-0125, or call Linda Shea at 308-532-9362.

I have been to many soup benefit gatherings but this was by far the best for the quality of food and organization. I believe the JayCees done this so, "well done."

Kendra is a very strong woman that loves her boys and students! I had a chance to work with her at Hall School and this woman loves to teach and loves her students. She is a great mother and involved at a church and baked so many cookies for the youth group. I pray for her to get back on her feet like she used to be! She's a great role model and cuts/colors hair awesome. Love you Kendra! ( hint... Brittney)

We will be there to help this wonderful woman, whom I don't know. She's a teacher & I'm sure her students miss her, as well as family & friends. =)

No, George. Only an exit on Front Street. It's a one way door, only leading out. There are, however, 2 entrances on Chestnut. The main entrance & 1 further South that leads directly into the area where the fundraiser will likely be held.

thanks for clarifying coolmom, I thought that too. I used the address we were given by the organizer. Is there an entrance off Front St.?

I'm thinking the address of the Eagles Club is a Chestnut St. address. Yup...just checked. 620 N. Chestnut. Corner of Front & Chestnut, across the street West of that "other paper".
