The fury started at around 2:50 p.m. Saturday, when police officers responded to the 1500 block of West First to a reported domestic disturbance. The female victim, age 43, said her domestic partner Rick Smallfoot, 48, had assaulted her.

The victim said she and Smallfoot had an argument that turned physical when he grabbed her forcefully around the neck and throat and pushed her into a chair. Officers determined there was probable cause to arrest Smallfoot for strangulation, a felony, and third degree assault – domestic, a misdemeanor. Officers picked up Smallfoot later that night at the residence, arrested him and took him to the Lincoln County Jail, Police Information Officer Rodney Brown said.

It became even noisier on Sunday. Early in the morning at 3:50 a.m., officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1900 block of W. First. This time a man, age 31, said his domestic partner Meagan Herrick, 27, assaulted him.

Police said the man said an argument turned physical when Herrick began hitting him in the chest, arms and face. The man said he was hurt and had a minor injury to his mouth.

Herrick was arrested for domestic assault. Police found her elsewhere, arrested her and took her to jail, Brown said.

Around 7:30 p.m., Thomas Brownell, 61, of North Platte was picked up for failure to appear on a previous third-degree assault charge. Police found him in the 800 block of N. Dewey and took him to jail, Brown said. The FTA warrant stemmed from earlier charges of assault third degree assault and disturbing the peace, Brown said.

More ruckuses occurred around 9:50 p.m., when the police went to the 500 block of East G St. where a domestic disturbance was reported.

A 46-year-old woman said she woke up to find her domestic partner Curtis Triplett, 52, yelling and pushing a 17-year-old girl around inside the house. The woman attempted to confront Triplett, but he grabbed her by the throat and neck and choked her, she told police.

The police arrested Triplett and charged him with felony strangulation, domestic assault and child neglect.

The girl is almost 18 and is his step daughter. She and her boyfriend were cuddled up on the couch (fully dressed) watching television with her mom and sibling in the family room. Wth is bad about that?!

Is it true Triplett arrived home earlier in the day to find his seventeen year old daughter on the coach with a twenty year old. Under the circumstances, perhaps I would be a bit "pissed off" myself. Still no excuse for using force against a woman.

The woman whom was woken is his spouse, therefor she is his wife. There is a huge difference between domestic "partner" and wife.
