Heather and David Granados both pled not guilty Monday to felony child abuse in Lincoln County District Court.

The couple was arrested Sept. 17 after hair follicles from their 18-month-old child tested positive for amphetamine, meth and THC, the active chemical in marijuana, police information officer Rodney Brown said.

David Granados pleaded not guilty Monday in Lincoln County District Court. A status hearing was set for Nov. 19. Heather also pleaded not guilty and defense attorney Kent Florom asked for more time to take depositions. She too, will be back in court Nov. 19 for a status hearing.

At an earlier hearing, Deputy Lincoln County Attorney Jennifer Wellan told County Judge Kent Turnbull that David is not suspected of using meth, only marijuana.
