Effective Jan. 1, Curtis State Bank's locations in Curtis, North Platte and Purdum will be changing their name to Western Nebraska Bank. The name change will bring all banking locations under one name and allows them to represent the same identity and brand.
“This is an exciting time for our employees, customers and the communities we serve, we hope our customers and friends will share our excitement,” Bank President Curtis Heapy said.
Customers will notice the new logo on bank correspondence, debit cards, and checks.
Customers can continue banking as normal, continue using debit cards and checks, and making direct deposits and automatic debits, Heapy said.
Customers will also notice a new, user-friendly website, where they can continue to check account balances, make transfers and receive e-statements safely and securely.
Curtis State Bank's assets have grown from $23 million to approximately $60 million since it was acquired in 2010 by Western Bancshares, Inc., a bank holding company. Earlier this year, the bank opened a Loan Production Office and an independent insurance agency, Western Nebraska Insurance LLC, in North Platte.
The bank recently assumed all of the deposits and a majority of the assets of Purdum State Bank.
“We are excited about our growing bank and feel a re-branding will create unity among our employees," said Michael Kelly, President of Western Bancshares, Inc. "We value the relationships our customers have established with Curtis State Bank and Purdum State Bank and look forward to continuing and surpassing the level of service they have come to expect. Western Bancshares is proud to have shareholders who live in the Curtis, North Platte and Purdum areas.”
