Cross Country: McGuire third at stateTell North Platte what you think

KEARNEY-Wyatt McGuire of North Platte High School finished in third place at the Nebraska State Cross Country Meet on Friday.

McGuire, a junior, came in at 15:49.8 to finish behind state champion Joe Harter of Millard West and runner-up Danny Aldaba of Fremont.

Harter won the race with a time of 15:22.9 and Aldaba, who led Fremont to the team title, was at 15:37.2.

Both Harter and Aldaba are seniors and their departures give McGuire a prime opportunity to win state in 2013.

Ace Haws, the other North Platte boys' runner, was 51st with 17:32.1.

Libby Burrows, the lone qualifier for the NPHS girls, was 37th with a time of 16:07.2.
