A rundown of entertainment in North Platte and Lincoln County. • Weekend movies at the Platte River Mall include “Argo”, “Here Comes the Boom”, “Hotel Transylvania 3D”, “Paranormal Activity 4”, “Pitch Perfect”, and “Taken 2”. One in downtown Parkade Plaza, 7 a.m.-1 p.m. Another at Garden Glove Garden Center (1800 E. 12th) 9-1. Produce, crafts, flowers, meats, baked goods. • Weekends at Golden Spike Visitor’s Center (1249 N. Saturday, Oct. 20 • Platte Valley Christian Academy (1521 Rodeo Rd.) – Family fun with carnival style games for kids and silent auction. Sloppy Joes, chips, and drink served from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Event lasts 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Free will donation. • Skate park near the Rec Center (1300 McDonald Rd.) – Skate and Create BBQ and Raffle fundraiser for new skate park. 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. • Neville Center – Dirty Rotten Scoundrels performed by the Community Playhouse. Lighthearted look at con men on the Riveria. Based on the noted film. 8 p.m. Adults: $15; Children/Students: $8. • Sculley’s Shooters (2221 E. Fourth) – Hometown Family Radio to have a Brew Haw Haw concert from 7-9 p.m. Johnny Cash concert from 9 p.m.-midnight. Each event $10 or both for $15.
Sunday, Oct. 21 • North Platte High School – Nebraska Pride Chorus presents A Fractured Fairy Tale with special guests The Crew from Denver. 2 p.m. Adults $12, 12 and under $5. • Neville Center – Dirty Rotten Scoundrels performed by the Community Playhouse. Lighthearted look at con men on the Riveria. Based on the noted film. Matinee: 2 p.m. Evening curtain: 8 p.m. Adults $15. Children/Students $8.

Friday, Oct. 26 • Sculley’s Shooters (2221 E. Fourth) – Heaven & Hell Halloween Party with live music by Hemlock. Includes a scariest costume contest. 9 p.m. Cover charge. • Cedar Bowl (1100 S. Jeffers) – Cosmic bowling under black lights. 8-11 p.m. $4 per game.
Saturday, Oct. 27 • Ace Hardware (235 E. Sixth) – Dutch oven contest. Guidelines available in store. • Sutherland Track (N. County Rd.) – Trick or Feet 2012 run/walk. Costume contest. 8-11 a.m. Adults $20, Kids: $15. Proceeds benefit Boy Scouts. • Downtown Trick or Treat on the Bricks – 14th annual Halloween Walk for 3rd graders or under. Trick or treat and enjoy games and prizes. 1-3 p.m. • Neville Center for Performing Arts (Old Fox Theater downtown) – 7 p.m. Christian music concert by Francesca Battistelli, Sidewalk Prophets, Andy Cherry and City Harbor. Tickets $22 in advance, $25 day of show. Group tickets $18. VIP tickets $32, includes meeting and greet. • A to Z Books (507 N. Jeffers) – West central Nebraska’s Open Mic Nite. Wednesday, Oct. 31 • Lincoln County Historical Museum – Spirit hunting in a ghost town. Kids activities with coloring and marshmallow roasting. Trick or treat from 4-6 p.m. Main event 7 p.m.-midnight. Adults: $6, Kids 8 and under: free.
