A rundown of entertainment in North Platte and Lincoln County. • Weekend movies at the Platte River Mall include “Argo”, “Here Comes the Boom”, “Hotel Transylvania 3D”, “Paranormal Activity 4”, “Pitch Perfect”, and “Taken 2”. Schedule subject to change, see www.carmike.com. • Every Saturday – two outdoor farmer's markets. One in downtown Parkade Plaza, 7 a.m.-1 p.m. Another at Garden Glove Garden Center (1800 E. 12th) 9-1. Produce, crafts, flowers, meats, baked goods. • Weekends at Golden Spike Visitor’s Center (1249 N. Homestead Rd) – 10-acre cornfield maze. 5-10 p.m. Fridays, 1-10 p.m. Saturdays, 1-7 p.m. Sundays. $7 adults. $6 ages 4-11. Toddlers free.
Saturday, Oct. 20 • Platte Valley Christian Academy (1521 Rodeo Rd.) – Family fun with carnival style games for kids and silent auction. Sloppy Joes, chips, and drink served from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Event lasts 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Free will donation. • Skate park near the Rec Center (1300 McDonald Rd.) – Skate and Create BBQ and Raffle fundraiser for new skate park. 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. • Neville Center – Dirty Rotten Scoundrels performed by the Community Playhouse. Lighthearted look at con men on the Riveria. Based on the noted film. 8 p.m. Adults: $15; Children/Students: $8. • Sculley’s Shooters (2221 E. Fourth) – Hometown Family Radio to have a Brew Haw Haw concert from 7-9 p.m. Johnny Cash concert from 9 p.m.-midnight. Each event $10 or both for $15.
Sunday, Oct. 21 • North Platte High School – Nebraska Pride Chorus presents A Fractured Fairy Tale with special guests The Crew from Denver. 2 p.m. Adults $12, 12 and under $5. • Neville Center – Dirty Rotten Scoundrels performed by the Community Playhouse. Lighthearted look at con men on the Riveria. Based on the noted film. Matinee: 2 p.m. Evening curtain: 8 p.m. Adults $15. Children/Students $8.
Wednesday, Oct. 24 • VFW Post 1504 (2100 E. Fourth) – bingo, total of 24 games, starts at 6:45 p.m. • North Platte Senior Center (900 E. Tenth) – the Golden Classics, a four-piece combo, plays a dance. 7-10 p.m. $3.
Wednesday-Wednesday, Oct. 24-31 • From Oct. 24-31 at the Lincoln County Historical Museum (2403 N. Buffalo Bill) – Spirit Haunting in a Ghost Town. 7-10 p.m. Ages 9 and up $6, otherwise free.
Thursday-Wednesday, Oct. 25-31 • D & N Event Center - "Mayhem Manor" haunted house. Weekdays & Sunday 6-9 p.m. Fri.& Sat. 6-12 p.m. $5. Presented by the North Platte Junior Belles.
Friday, Oct. 26 • Sculley’s Shooters (2221 E. Fourth) – Heaven & Hell Halloween Party with live music by Hemlock. Includes a scariest costume contest. 9 p.m. Cover charge. • Cedar Bowl (1100 S. Jeffers) – Cosmic bowling under black lights. 8-11 p.m. $4 per game.
Saturday, Oct. 27 • Ace Hardware (235 E. Sixth) – Dutch oven contest. Guidelines available in store. • Sutherland Track (N. County Rd.) – Trick or Feet 2012 run/walk. Costume contest. 8-11 a.m. Adults $20, Kids: $15. Proceeds benefit Boy Scouts. • Downtown Trick or Treat on the Bricks – 14th annual Halloween Walk for 3rd graders or under. Trick or treat and enjoy games and prizes. 1-3 p.m. • Neville Center for Performing Arts (Old Fox Theater downtown) – 7 p.m. Christian music concert by Francesca Battistelli, Sidewalk Prophets, Andy Cherry and City Harbor. Tickets $22 in advance, $25 day of show. Group tickets $18. VIP tickets $32, includes meeting and greet. • A to Z Books (507 N. Jeffers) – West central Nebraska’s Open Mic Nite. Established performers and newcomers. Halloween music and ghost stories will be featured. 7-10:30 p.m. Free-will donation. Refreshments provided or bring your own. • Sculley’s Shooters (2221 E. Family friendly fun night for kids of all ages with games and refreshments. 4:30-6:30 p.m. Free admission. • Neville Center – Utah Repertory Dance Theater, professional modern dance company to perform a dance tour through a hundred years of dance. 7:30-10 p.m. Memberships: adults $15, students $15, families $100.
Wednesday, Oct. 31 • Lincoln County Historical Museum – Spirit hunting in a ghost town. Kids activities with coloring and marshmallow roasting. Trick or treat from 4-6 p.m. Main event 7 p.m.-midnight. Adults: $6, Kids 8 and under: free. Refreshments and pumpkins for sale. • Harvest Christian Fellowship church (NW campus, 2607 Rodeo Rd.) - Harvest party, 5-8 p.m. Games for the family, candy giveaway, special area for preschoolers. • VFW Post 1504 (2100 E.
