Parra-Munoz’s car rolled over and he was killed around 3:30 a.m., a State Patrol investigator said. The wreck occurred near Brady.

Earlier Parra-Munoz led police on a chase through North Platte at high speed.

A police patrol officer saw the Chevy Impala on East Fourth and believed it to be the same car that was involved in a gasoline drive-off on Tuesday at a Rodeo Road Kwik Stop.

The officer tried to stop the car, but it sped off, police spokesman Rodney Brown said. The officer chased the car east on Fourth, south to Philip, east to Newberry, north back to Fourth and south on Bicentennial.

The car ran several stop signs.

The police shift supervisor called the chase off out of concern for public safety.

Parra-Munoz was not positively identified as the driver at the time, but the car was registered in his name.

The gasoline was reportedly stolen Tuesday. A witness said Parra-Munoz drove off without paying for nearly $50 worth of gas. He was identified from a Nebraska ID he left at the store, Brown said.

Police were unable locate him at that time.

There were two other active warrants on Parra-Munoz, Brown said.

That's what I'd do. Steal gas, then burn it all up running from the cops. Oh well.

I don't know how you can say Mijo was a "good guy". All he did was break laws, crash cars, run from the law, assault people, and be a bad guy anytime he could.....this saved the county and state alot of money.

I have a hard time feeling sorry for this guy, I feel for his family, but he died as a result of his own actions, nobody elses...And, he risked the lives of countless others by running from the police. Thank God he only cost his own life...

Andwhat... Please tell us how he was such a great guy??? Beating up women and putting them in the hospital while her little child is in the next room .. Is that a great guy?? Being a criminal for most of his life and not caring how it hurts his family .. Is that a good guy ?? Disrespecting women (seen it myself) by how he talks to them.. Is that a great guy??? I have a lot of reasons not to like this man one bit!! Is it sad he lost his life .. Yes it is !! Is it sad for his family because they have to bury a child .. Yes it is !! I can't feel sorry for him though because of his decisions in his life all I have to say is KARMA!!!

If his familyfriends don't like what is written, they shouldn't be reading it frankly.

I agree I do not this man or family, but his crime was a crime (fact), but I'm sure he has a mother, father, family. A person is dead. He may not have made a good choice, there could of been others factors involved, but who are we to judge? What if his actions killed an innocent person? A child? Have some respect for the family not to say it is a good thing this man is dead. Seriously some people in this town live on drama, criticize and never get off their own pedestal to look at people below them that are actually better than those who run their mouth ALL the time. JMHO!

Have some respect! This man had a mother and a sister and a family. No matter how you felt about him, or the choices he made in his life, He has a family who mourns him in death. Where is your compassion? Your comments should be deleted. :(

To the people making innappropriate comments: Have some respect, the man is dead and cannot speak for himself. I'm pretty sure his family, friends, or people like myself don't appreciate it either.

How tragic for his family. To think he likely lost his life over $50 worth of gasoline. How sad! Prayers of comfort to those who love him.

'The car ran several stop signs.' Shouldn't it say 'The driver ran several stop signs.'
