The Elwood volleyball team defeated Maxwell Tuesday in four sets.

Maxwell won the first set, 25-20, but Elwood took the next three, 25-18, 25-20 and 25-16.

"We got better this week and made a lot of improvement from last week," Maxwell Coach Lori Mau said.

Maxwell is 7-18. Elwood is 13-10.

Josie Cox had 9 kills and 5 stuff blocks for Maxwell. Teammates Aura Adkisson had 4 kills, 1 stuff block and 5 ace serves; Naomi Schaub had 15 digs and an ace; Anna Crane had 10 digs and 6 kills and Kayla Stenger had 20 assists, 5 digs and an ace.

"We just need to keep moving in the right direction and work on fixing some of our errors," Mau said. "It was nice to see the girls come out with some fire and fight tonight."
