Mid-Plains Community College Rodeo Club member Austin Cox of Overton competed at the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association rodeo at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, on Oct. 6-7.

According to MPCC Rodeo Club Coach Chase Miller, Cox scored a 67 in the first round of bull riding and took third place in the round. Then he won the short round with a score of 78 and ended up second in the average.

The MPCC Rodeo Team has 150 points this season, which puts them in seventh place in the NIRA’s Great Plains Region standings.
