BENKELMAN-The Hershey volleyball team won both matches of a triangular against Dundy County-Stratton and Perkins County on Tuesday. The Lady Panthers (12-7) began the day by beating the host team, Dundy County-Stratton 25-21, 21-25, 25-20. "Dundy County had some kids who swing well," said Hershey coach Amy Beyer. "We missed way too many serves and we need to be more solid in that aspect of the game." Against Dundy County (15-9), Daynlee Miller and Brooke Munsen were tough at the net with 19 and 14 kills, respectively. The Panthers then finished up with another three-set victory by beating conference rival Perkins County 19-25, 25-16, 25-20. "We really struggled hitting in the first set," Beyer said. "But we settled down and made some rotation changes in the last two sets. We had better serving, passing and defense compared to the Dundy County game." Miller had seven kills against Perkins County (4-16), as did Ryce Troyer. Miller also served for 14 points in the match. Jenna Young and Bobbi Brannan, the two Hershey setters, both had 28 set assists in the two matches.
